A Film for the Whole Family
A U certificate means Ramayana can be watched by audiences of all ages without any restrictions. For a film based on the epic, that’s a big plus.
Families, children and older audiences make up a huge part of the audience for a film like this. A clean certificate makes it easier for entire families to plan a theatre visit together, especially around the festive season.
A Long, Epic Runtime
At 3 hours and 15 minutes, Ramayana is one of the longer big-screen films in recent years. That’s longer than Kalki 2898 AD and RRR, both of which ran just over three hours.
It’s still a little shorter than Ranbir Kapoor’s own Animal, which ran close to three hours and 21 minutes and went on to become a massive hit. Pushpa 2 also ran over three hours and 20 minutes.
For an epic of this scale, a long runtime is expected. The real test will be whether the film keeps audiences hooked through all of it.
The Big Release Is Near
Ramayana stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Yash as Ravana and Sai Pallavi as Sita. The music is by Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman.
The film will hold its world premiere at the Academy Museum in Los Angeles on October 27. Premieres follow on November 4, and the film releases worldwide on November 5 in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam, along with IMAX.
It has also been declared tax-free in West Bengal, and more states are expected to follow.
